Role of homogeneous distribution of SiC reinforcement on the characteristics of stir casted Al–SiC composites

Stir casting process is very popular for the fabrication of particle reinforced metal matrix composites. However, achieving a homogenous distribution reinforcement particles challenging, which directly affect final mechanical performances. In this research, detailed investigation was conducted to obtain superior synthesis Al–SiC composite materials and detect effect SiC on characteristic stir casted Al composites using glycerol–water based model. The model study displays impacts viscosity melt (1.04–1.24 mPa.s), impeller position (10–50%), stirring speed (100–300 rpm) blade angle (0–90°) vortex height, dispersion time, settling time clustering particles. results experiments model, 45° angles, 40% from base, 250 rpm showed best uniform Confirmation were carried out by fabricating PRMMC three different viscosities (1.04, 1.13, 1.24 mPa.s) considering other parameters as constant.
